The Lady With The Dog - some interesting resources...

The Prezi below offers some relationships between Chekhov's personal life and the story.  Are Dmitri and Anna reflections of his own strained romance with his wife?  Probably, to some extent.  The phrase "write what you know" is hard to escape.  The best fiction is always based on some sort of fact.  And in this case, a hefty dose of "realism" draws fairly accurately from how adultery was viewed in Russia (and Chekhov seems to suggest it wasn't that uncommon).
